Why Would We Engineer Your First 20,000 Linear Feet for Free?

Here Is The Offer

We engineer your first 20,000 linear feet through permit approval, free. You pay agency permit fees and any required professional engineer stamping or sealing fee.

For ISPs, electric utilities, cooperatives and data centers with construction volume ahead. From feasibility and field survey to construction drawings and agency handling, this is work you can evaluate on your own route before deciding whether to continue with us.

Free Has A Clear Boundary

Agency permit fees are paid by the client, as is any professional engineer stamping or sealing fee the project requires. Draftech's engineering, the filing and the agency handling are what is free.

01 / The Reason

Because The Work
Should Earn The Next Conversation.

Julio Martinez, CEO & Partner, Draftech International

“Most of the teams that call us do not have a funding problem. They have an engineering execution problem, and it shows up at the permit desk. So we stopped describing what we do and started doing it: the first 20,000 feet of your route, engineered and permitted, before a dollar of your budget is committed. What you will see is how we communicate, how fast we move, the quality of the drawings, and permits approved so construction can start.”

Julio Martinez, CEO, Draftech International

We have 600+ engineers, and our engineering is 100% in-house. That capacity supports the same work we deliver to paying clients: drawings, pole loading and permit sets built to your specifications and carrier standards. The first segment gives you a basis for evaluating our communication, our drawings and our handling of the agency process.

02 / The Scope

Does “Free” Mean
A Preliminary Sketch?

It means the full permitted design package for the first 20,000 linear feet. Here is the work, from reading the route to the approved package you keep.

Included EngineeringWhat The Work Covers
  1. 01

    Feasibility Study

Constructability, structure availability, right of way and the agencies your route must satisfy. An engineer scoping call establishes the route scope with you.

  2. 02

    Field Survey

Field collection of poles, structures, existing attachments and obstructions along the first 20,000 linear feet, with GIS-ready route shapefiles.

  3. 03

    HLD Route Planning

The proposed fiber path, route segmentation, aerial or underground design by segment, and the structure count for the build.

  4. 04

    Make-Ready & Pole Loading

O‑Calc Pro pole loading analysis, NESC compliance verification and a defined make-ready scope for the route's attachments.

  5. 05

    LLD & Material Takeoff

Production-ready CAD construction drawings, with fiber, strand, hardware and splice closures counted and specified in the full material takeoff.

  6. 06

    Permit Drawings

We prepare drawings to the agency's requirements, sealed by a licensed professional engineer. Applicable stamping or sealing fees remain payable by you.

  7. 07

    Permit Submittals

We file the package with the exhibits each agency asks for. Filing is part of the engineering offer.

  8. 08

    Agency Handling

We handle agency questions, comments and resubmittals, carrying the package through the review process.

  9. 09

    Permit Approval

We stay on the work through permit approval. The drawings, permit drawings and approved permit package remain yours.

Also IncludedA grant and program compliance documentation check against the program funding your build.
I was skeptical about the free offer. The CAD files we received were indistinguishable from what we'd paid $18,000 for on a previous project. We signed a full engagement the next week.

03 / Beyond The Filing

Who Handles
The Agency's Next Question?

We do. Our team takes the agency's questions, comments and resubmittals through approval. You can evaluate how that responsibility is handled alongside the drawings themselves. Filing is one stage of the package; the same engineering team carries the work through the agency process, so you are not left chasing a reviewer.

A Past Engagement28 Route Miles

for a hyperscale data center campus, Draftech delivered 28 route miles of survey, OSP design, permit packages and submissions in 17 days, with closeout documentation completed.

The 17 days describe the delivered scope above, not the time to permit approval. Your route's schedule is agreed with you.
04 / A Second Opinion

Already Have
An Engineering Firm?

Use this as a second opinion. Compare the deliverable quality, permit readiness and agency handling with what you already receive. You can review another set of drawings before deciding how to proceed with the wider route. The first segment gives you work to compare, and you keep the files whether or not you continue with us.

We had a BEAD award and a 90-day clock. Draftech had drawings in our hands in 12 business days. The pole loading caught three violations our previous contractor missed entirely.

05 / Planning & Compliance

Still Planning?
Bring That Conversation.

Planning is a useful time to examine buildability, cost data and permit readiness before committing budget to construction. The package includes a compliance documentation check against the program funding your build, whether BEAD, a state broadband program, RUS or your own capital plan. BEAD subgrantees are eligible, and so are other qualified telecom and power buyers.

The BEAD compliance check alone was worth it. They flagged two documentation issues before we submitted our first disbursement request. That could have been a $200,000 clawback problem.
